Issue Description:
Manufacturing has determined that the Centerplane of the E3500 has a
reliability problem that could result in a system shutdown.

A VCC via and a ground pad are located in close proximity, and a
capacitor (C0884) overlaps the via, creating a potential for a short
between VCC and ground.

Removal of the above capacitor decreases the potential for shorting and
does not degrade system performance. ECO# WO_13370, approved on
Jun/08/98, provides for the removal of this capacitor and rolls the
centerplane part number from 501-4799-02 to 501-4799-03.
Implementation:
---
  	| X | MANDATORY (Fully Pro-Active)
	 ---

         ---
  	| | CONTROLLED PRO-ACTIVE (per Sun Geo Plan)
	 ---

         ---
  	| | UPON FAILURE
	 ---
Replacement Time Estimate:
150 minutes (2.5 hours)
Special Considerations:
All customers in the customer list should be contacted and replacement
scheduled as soon as possible. Refer to the URL listed under References
section above, which will take you to the FIN/FCO ProActive Webpage.
Corrective Action:
1) Turn system OFF, but leave the A.C. power cord connected so there is
a good ground connection established for ESD protection.

(All personal in the field are to use ESD procedures and protection.)

2) Replace the 5-slot Centerplane 501-4799-02 with 501-4799-03.

3) Turn ON power and check for normal operation.
Comments:
Reference the Sun Enterprise 3500 System Reference Manual, 805-2630-10
or greater. Refer to Appendix E for step-by-step instructions.
Billing Type:
Warranty: Sun will provide parts at no charge under Warranty
