Issue Description:
Some concern has been raised in the field regarding seating problems on
E10000 systems. In an effort to address this issue, and to collect data
in order to determine the scope of such problems, we are releasing a pro-
cedure for interconnect testing between the centerplane and the system
boards, as well as interconnect testing on the system board level between
the board and CPU, I/O and memory mezzanines. The interconnect diagnostics
may be used as required for failure isolation.

!WARNING! !WARNING! !WARNING! !WARNING! !WARNING!

All interconnect testing MUST be performed with ALL system boards and the
centerplane in an idle state. That is to say that ALL domains in the cabinet
to be tested MUST be shutdown.

*NOTE: These tests have been designed to be used in manufacturing and
lab environments, and as such were not designed with the RAS
features of the E10000 in mind. Therefore, care should be
taken when considering the use of these diagnostics during an
upgrade as their use does not comply with the domain isolation
        features of the E10000.
Corrective Action:
Further experience with the interconnect tests has demonstrated the
requirement to TURN OFF the Event Detect Daemon's monitoring of the
E10000's events while running the tests. This UPDATED FIN describes
in detail how to turn off and on the EDD.

*NOTE: For each of the following test procedures, it is assumed that
the system has been connected to power; that the SSP has been
powered on, configured and booted; that the operator has log-
        ged in as user 'ssp' and started the Open Windows environment;
that the operator has set the SUNW_HOSTNAME environment to the
name of the E10000 platform and that the cabinet has been success-
fully powered on. Additionally, the SSP Event Detect Daemon, EDD,
should be stopped. DO NOT ATTEMPT to run any of the following
tests until these steps have been accomplished.

Initial Installation
--------------------

As part of the installation process, run the interconnect test for the
centerplane before creating or booting any domains. Interconnect test-
ing MUST be performed prior to any reseating of components in the E10000
system. The installation process flow would be modified to include this
testing between the initial power on of a E10000 cabinet and the booting
of the first domain. The test results should be noted in the installation
report.

As user 'ssp' on the SSP, execute the following commands:

	snax-ssp:snax% edd_cmd -x stop
        snax-ssp:snax% interconnect_test_cp

This test requires no command line options. The execution time is dependent
upon configuration, and can be roughly calculated from the following data:

        # SYSBRDS EXECUTION TIME IN hh:mm:ss
        --------- -------------------------
             4 00:16:10
             8 00:30:46
             16 01:03:55

Below is an example run of an eight board system:

        snax-ssp:snax% time interconnect_test_cp
Interconnect test passed for board 'center plane.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sb0_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sb1_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sb2_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sb3_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sb4_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sb5_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sb6_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sb7_conn.1'.
        board sysboard8 is not present.
        board sysboard9 is not present.
        board sysboard10 is not present.
        board sysboard11 is not present.
        board sysboard12 is not present.
        board sysboard13 is not present.
        board sysboard14 is not present.
        board sysboard15 is not present.
        TEST PASSED
        38.0u 39.0s 30:46 4% 0+0k 0+0io 0pf+0w

When the test is finished, DO NOT FORGET to turn EDD back ON. As user 'ssp'
on the SSP, execute the following command:

	snax-ssp:snax% edd_cmd -x start

Upgrades
--------

As part of the upgrade or installation of new mezzanines or system
boards into an existing system, in the event of an hpost failure it is
recommended that the interconnect test for the system board(s) in
question be run prior to any reseating of components. Again, this
testing would take place after the initial power on of a board and
before it is booted in a domain configuration.

!CAUTION! !CAUTION! !CAUTION! !CAUTION! !CAUTION!

DO NOT RUN "interconnect_test_sb" IF ANY OTHER DOMAINS ARE RUNNING OS!
This test will crash any running domains. This test was not designed to
be used with domains which are running OS.

As user 'ssp' on the SSP, execute the following commands:

	snax-ssp:chips% edd_cmd -x stop
        snax-ssp:chips% interconnect_test_sb [board option]

where [board option] is one of the following:

                sysboard0 through sysboard15

Below is an example run of sysboard0:

        snax-ssp:snax% time interconnect_test_sb sysboard0
Interconnect test passed for board 'sysboard.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'mem_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sysio_conn.1'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sf0_conn.3'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sf1_conn.3'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sf2_conn.3'.
Interconnect test passed for board 'sf3_conn.3'.
        TEST PASSED
        19.0u 20.0s 7:02 9% 0+0k 0+0io 0pf+0w

When the test is finished, DO NOT FORGET to turn EDD back ON. As user 'ssp'
on the SSP, execute the following command:

	snax-ssp:snax% edd_cmd -x start
Comments:
Both the centerplane and system board tests will fail on a system board
which is physically plugged into the centerplane but has not been
powered on, or if ANY domain is active or running.
