DOC: 805-7764-12 - MNL, SERVICE MANUAL/ULTRA 10
Issue Description:
There were approximately 632 Ultra 10 systems were shipped with the
primary drive configured as a "master". The systems that were shipped
have the IBM 9.1GB drive installed as the primary hard disk drive. The
model number of the drive is IBM DJNA-370910.

The documentation states that the drive should be jumpered for
"cable select". There are no functional reasons why this drive won't
work the way it has been configured (i.e. with the primary drive
jumpered as "master") unless the customer installs an x-option listed
secondary hard disk drive and that drive is also set to "master". In
that case, the second drive won't be recognized.

To avoid this situation, jumper both drives with "cable select".
Implementation:

        | | MANDATORY (Fully Pro-Active)
         ---

         ---
        | | CONTROLLED PRO-ACTIVE (per Sun Geo Plan)
         ---

         ---
        | X | REACTIVE (As Required)
         ---
Corrective Action:
Enterprise Customers and Authorized Enterprise Field Service
Representatives may avoid the above mentioned problem by following the
recommendation shown below:

The recommendation is to change the primary drive's jumper setting to
"cable select" when the customer installs the x-option secondary disk
drive in the Ultra 10 system, if the primary drive jumper setting is
found to be set to "master".

When installing a secondary disk drive into an Ultra 10 system,
inspect the jumper settings on both the primary and secondary drives.
If either drive is found to be jumpered for "master", i.e.:

             _____ _____
        [I] | [G] | [E] [C] | [A] | Incorrect
            | [H] | [F] [D] | [B] | "master" setting
             ----- ----- IBM DJNA-370910

Then it should be changed to the "cable select" setting, i.e.:

                   _____ _____
        [I] [G] | [E] | [C] | [A] | Correct
             [H] | [F] | [D] | [B] | "cable select" setting
                   ----- ----- IBM DJNA-370910
