Notes

  1. The minimum Solaris operating system is Solaris 10 10/08.
  2. Heatsink FRU 541-2545 includes Heatsink 310-0161, two 240-6751 SpringScrews, one 250-1802 Cleaning Wipe and one 310-0065 Shin-Etsu X23-7783D Thermal Grease Syringe. Heatsink 310-0161 is pre-greased with Shin-Etsu G751.
  3. The System Board FRU includes two 250-1802 Cleaning Wipes, and two 310-0065 Shin-Etsu X23-7783D Thermal Grease Syringes.

Chassis Notes

  1. The X6270 is supported in Sun Blade 6000 A90-A and A90-B, and in Sun Blade 6048.
  2. The X6270 is not supported in Sun Blade 6000 A90-D.

Memory Installation Notes

  1. Install memory filler panel 350-1288 in all unused slots.
  2. Install the first three DIMMs in CPU0 and CPU1 slots D8, D5, and D2.
  3. Install the second three DIMMs in CPU0 and CPU1 slots D7, D4, and D1.
  4. Maximum speed is 1333MHz when 1333MHz DIMMs are installed in D8, D5, and D2.
  5. Maximum speed is 1066MHz when two DIMMs of any speed are installed per channel.
  6. Maximum speed is 800MHz when three DIMMs of any speed are installed per channel.
  7. Use of the same DIMM size and speed is recommended for maximum performance.

Midplane Notes

  1. The Sun Blade X6270 supports PCI Express 1.1 and 2.0.
  2. Sun Blade 6000 Midplane 501-7376 supports PCI Express 1.1.
  3. Sun Blade 6000 Midplane 511-1298 supports PCI Express 2.0.
  4. The Sun Blade 6000 Midplane upgrade is A90-B-MP-UPGKIT.
  5. Sun Blade 6048 Midplane 501-7788 supports PCI Express 1.1.
  6. Sun Blade 6048 Midplanes 511-1212 and 511-1473 support PCI Express 2.0.
  7. The Sun Blade 6048 Midplane upgrade is B22-B-MP-UPGKIT.
