Sun Fire V490 Codename: Sebring Sun Fire V890 Codename: Silverstone

Notes

1. The minimum V490 and V890 OS is Solaris 9 9/05 or Solaris 10 3/05 HW1.
2. Sun Fire V490 and V890 OBP >=4.22 Version 24 is required.
3. Sun Fire V490-BASE-2100-Z chassis is required. Differences include the Centerplane, PCI I/O Board, Power Supply, Power Distribution Board, CPU Fan, and PCI Fan.
4. Sun Fire V890-BASE-2100-Z chassis is required. Differences include the CPU Module Mounting Brackets, I/O Board, Power Supply, and Power Distribution Board.
5. V490 and V890 upgrades are not available. Whole unit replacement is required.
6. V490 and V890 2.1GHz Base Systems are only compatible with 2.1GHz.

Configuration Notes

1. Mixing UltraSPARC IV and IV+ CPU/Memory boards is supported.
2. Mixing UltraSPARC III and IV+ CPU/Memory boards is not supported.
3. Mixing 2100MHz with any other speed CPU/Memory board is not supported.
4. Refer to Configuration Guide 819-1813 for supported mixed speed configurations.
5. The 2100MHz UltraSPARC IV+ is not supported in the Sun Fire V480 or V880.

Memory Notes

1. Four DIMMs of the same size form a group.
2. The minimum memory configuration is sixteen DIMMS.
3. Memory errors include CPU number, J number, and Slot location.
4. DIMM groups associated with a failed CPU are unavailable for use.
5. Interleaving is limited to memory on the same CPU/Memory Board.
6. Two-way interleaving occurs in any group when the DIMM size does not match the size used in any other group.
7. Four-way interleaving occurs between any two groups when the DIMM sizes are the same.
8. Eight-way interleaving occurs when the DIMMs in all four groups are the same size.
