Impact
When one side of cache is blocked due to a cache failure, ECC/LRC PIN
data can occur. In the cache duplication process at the time of writing data to parity
groups, a cache failure can occur, and an improperly duplicated extent will be
specified due to a micro-program failure.

This issue can occur when both following conditions are met:

  • RAID1 parity groups exist in the subsystem
  • A cache failure blocks one side of cache

Affected MICRO-PROGRAM VERSIONS:

Microcode version equal to or greater than 50-04-48-00/00 can be affected by this issue.

Symptoms

Workaround

New release of microcode will provide a countermeasure to prevent the issue.

The resolution for this issue is to install:

  • SE9990 (USP tagmaStore) MC 50-04-49-00/00 and above.
  • SE9985 (USP/NSC55) MC 50-05-23-00/00 and above.
