PreviouslyPublishedAs 201507 Product Sun StorageTek 2530 Array Sun StorageTek 2540 Array Bug Id <SUNBUG: 6498807> Impact Common Array Manager (CAM) Versions 5.1.3, and 6.0 both release with Controller firmware revision 06.17.52.10. For SATA drive feature support, it is required that Controller firmware 06.70.00.1 or later be installed on 25x0 arrays. Depending on host platform, this firmware can be obtained via resolved patches listed below and currently available. Please ensure patch firmware is applied offline during a maintenance window when there is no I/O activity to the array. Contributing Factors Sun StorageTek 25x0 Arrays with controller firmware earlier than 06.70.00.1 is impacted by this issue. Basic SATA drive feature support is not included in versions earlier than 06.70.00.1. Dysfunction of the SATA drives may lead to major issues and data integrity problems (see Symptoms section below). Resolution Install the correct CAM patch and follow instructions in the README file for the correct installation procedures as follows: For CAM 5.1.3 the following patches are available: 127486-01 Solaris 127487-02 Windows 127488-01 Linux For CAM 6.0 the following patches are available: 128269-01 Solaris 128270-01 Windows 128271-01 Linux These patches include: Controller: 06.70.00.11 NVSRAM: 670843 DISK: HDS7250SASUN500G.AJ0A IOM: 183 The correct revision of firmware will be packed with CAM 6.0.1 (or later) which is planned to include the new version from download site in late November or early December 2007. Important Note: Ensure patch firmware is applied offline during a maintenance window when there is no I/O activity to the array as indicated in the 2500 Release Notes (820-3411-10 pages 10-11).
