Impact

Installing one of these x-option cards in any slot other than 0 or 1, can lead to a system panic or cause the attached storage to go offline. Any utility which writes in large blocks might also force the attached storage offline.

Symptoms

Customers will experience downtime until the system is rebooted.

Workaround

Only use slots 0 or 1 on the Sun Fire X4200 platform.
