Date of Resolved Release
07-May-2009

Approx 62 HBAs were shipped with an incorrect high profile bracket...

Impact

These 62 HBAs shipped with a correct low profile bracket but not a correct high profile bracket.
Most customers use the low profile bracket. However if a customer received one of these 62 high
profile brackets they will not be able to install the HBA.

Contributing Factors

Only 62 of the following type of HBA is impacted:

- 594-2018-02 / Summit Dual HBA Cards, SG-XPCIE2FC-QF4 / Sun Qlogic PCI-E, 4GB, 2 Port, FC HBA

Note:  FRU/CRUs are not affected.

Symptoms

The HBA cannot be physically installed.

Root Cause

Not applicable.

Corrective Action

Workaround

There is no workaround.

Resolution

If a customer has one of these 62 incorrect the high profile brackets, you need to log a service case
with the "Storage,  Fiber Channel HBAs" team and they will ship the correct bracket.

The correct bracket can be identified with the Qlogic bracket Part Number stamped on the bracket as:

        PX2520601-00 REV C

The new brackets are available from Sun as of May 4, 2009.
