SymptomsNot following the time line for return locations, could cause problems with delivery and return credit for these parts.Impact For all HDS FRU returns previously sent back to the Plainfield Indiana HDS location. Changes to current logistics process need to be followed to ensure proper credit is given for each return to prevent any unnecessary costs to Oracle. ChangesContributing FactorsHDS is currently in the process of relocating the US Spares Distribution Center from Plainfield, Indiana to Norman, Oklahoma. This impacts the following products: Sun Storage 9910 System Sun Storage 9960 System Sun Storage 9970 System Sun Storage 9980 System Sun Storage 9985 System Sun Storage 9985V System Sun Storage 9990 System Sun Storage 9990V System CauseRoot CauseHDS is currently in the process of relocating the Spares Distribution Center from Plainfield, Indiana to Norman, Oklahoma USA. The new address of the new repair facility is... Hitachi Data Systems 1800 East Imhoff Road Norman, OK 73071 SolutionWorkaroundNo workaround available - see Resolution section. Resolution Parts returned to the US spares distribution Center on or after October 21, 2010 should be sent to the new Norman, Oklahoma location. Some FRUs which are currently in process around the transition date may require a request for a new return pack depending on the expected return date. This applies to all systems and returns which are currently shipped to Indiana, USA. For any parts which have a Plainfield Return pack, and you will be shipping the part back on or after October 21, 2010 please send an email to SAQuality@hds.com requesting an UPDATED Norman return pack be sent to you. Please make note of these important dates regarding spares field returns. + Through Sunday, October 17, 2010 All Returnable/Repairable parts will continue to ship out from the depots with the current return pack containing a FedEx Billable Stamp pre-addressed to Hitachi Data Systems in Plainfield, Indiana. + Monday, October 18, 2010 All Returnable/Repairable parts will begin to ship out with an UPDATED return pack containing a FedEx Billable Stamp pre-addressed to Hitachi Data Systems in Norman, Oklahoma. IMPORTANT: Please do not ship any returns back using the Pre-assigned AWB for Norman until October 21, 2010. + Thursday October 21, 2010 Begin shipping returns back with the UPDATED Norman return pack only. For any parts which have a Plainfield Return pack, and you will be shipping the part back on or after October 21, 2010 please send an email to SAQuality@hds.com requesting an UPDATED Norman return pack be sent to you. For any parts for which you do not have a return pack, and it will be shipping back on or after October 21, 2010 please send an email to SAQuality@hds.com requesting a UPDATED Norman return pack be sent to you.
