Symptoms
When a CPU/memory board is newly installed, the system may not show correct SB and environment information (eg. Temperature/Fan data) in "prtdiag" output correctly.

In this example situation below, SB4 is newly installed into a Sun Fire[TM] V1280 system after a normal boot.  The following is the prtdiag output.

Resolution
Resolution
The workaround for this situation is to shutdown the system and reconfigure-boot the system (boot -r). 
It is also recommended to make sure the picl patch is updated (see Patch ID 111792 ) on the system in question.
NOTE:  This issue was reported on Solaris 8 and ScApp 5.18.x, but it is not thought to occur on any other configuration.
