Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1008916.1 : Sun Enterprise [TM] 3500 OBP 3.2.x Will not create boot devalias if slot 1 has type 5 graphic I/O board 501-4884 installed
PreviouslyPublishedAs 212267 Symptoms Open Boot [TM] Prom 3.2.x will not create a devalias for booting Sun Enterprise[TM] 3500 server internal fc-al disks when GRAPHIC I/O board type 5 (501-4884) is installed in slot 1. Open Boot Program 3.2.x probing process for creating devalias does not interrogate /sbus@2. Thus a devalias for booting system will not be created. GRAPHIC type 5 I/O board is unique in that it's onboard fc-al (socal) controller path is located under /sbus@3, where the normally installed SBUS type 4 I/O board (501-4883) internal fc-al (socal) path is /sbus@2. If 501-4884-0x GRAPHIC I/O board is installed in slot 1 and system requires booting from internal Sun Enterprise 3500 fc-al disk you will need to manually create devalias.
