SymptomsLibrary stops workingHbot failure HBB card failures Changes{CHANGE}CauseUnder lower humidity conditions (below 35%) with 9840x drives in an SL8500, an ESD event can occur. CR1602 on the HBB card has suffered failures due to electrostatic discharge resulting from 9840X cartridge static buildup. The discharge, coupled onto the input power lines of the card, exceeds the voltage rating of CR1602 (60 volt part). The system or product is not operational resulting in a critical impact to the customer's business requiring immediate resolution. SolutionResolutionFB102113 HBB ESD ROBOT UPGRADE, fixes ESD problem with 9840 drives. The solution is to replace the present MBRS360 CR1602 with a 1SMC48ATS 48 volt zener transient protection diode. This new part is specifically designed to absorb transients created by electrostatic discharges. The cards remain equivalent.
