Solution

How to pull the SL8500 tray cover and disconnect the drive TTI (LDI) cable on the back of the LTO tape drive/s before running the toolbox while the drive tray is powered up using the SL8500 drive tray power tool PN 314831203.

 

• When an LTO tape drive detects that a library LDI cable is physically connected to the drive's serial port, the code will not allow the drive to communicate to a host until it gets the library set-up and DWWN info etc. from the library.

• SCSI/Fibre Toolbox will not work until the LDI cable is physically disconnected from the back of the drive.

• The drive will then work via the host data path or the SCSI/Fibre toolbox at the default settings.
