Local support team reported during an SL8500 installation the library attempted to initialize incorrectly as a short library.
The field team was installing a 3_SEM library and the library attempted to initialize as a standard size library.

Engineering made a change at code level 3.11C to address a problem with short rail initialization which caused all the rails to be reconfigured as a short library. This typically occurred if the HandBot hit an obstruction on the rail during the initialization. Starting at 3.11C all HandBots need to agree on the rail length. In this case one HandBot was defective so all 4 HandBots did not agree on the length and the length was established by the previously configured size. Manufacturing tests the libraries with no extensions and so the previously configured size was no extensions.

If the defective bot had been replaced, all the HandBots would then agree on a length and the library would have initialized correctly. Another option would be to move one of the functional HandBots to the rail of the originally defective bot.
