Reservation not getting released

Cause

During maintenance activity, if one of the associated Library Controllers gets rebooted while a task is pending, the associated reservation may not get released by the Host connected Library Controller. 

SL8500 multi-library configurations connected together in one ACS via PTP's use a series of "Reserve and Release" commands to track inter-library tasks.

Solution

Resolution
If this condition occurs, it may be necessary to reset all the Library Controllers in the string to release all outstanding reservations.

To avoid leaving outstanding reservations in a multi-library configuration, all PTP activity must be completed before any Library controller is rebooted in the ACS.
