Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1017580.1 : Using "cfgadm -c configure" and diag-level=mem2 may fail on Sun Fire[TM] V1280 and Netra[TM] 1280
PreviouslyPublishedAs 228732 Symptoms Using "cfgadm -c configure <FRU>" and a diag-level of mem2 on a Sun Fire v1280 or Netra 1280 system can cause the following message to occur "sgfru ioctl 0xf handle 0xc1 failed: Connection timed out". This is due to a Solaris[TM] to SC mailbox management issue that causes Solaris to send messages to the SC while the SC is blocked, running LPOST on the requested board. Solaris times out before the SC finishes running POSt and can service the new messages. Resolution To avoid mailbox timeouts in this scenario, set the sgsbbc driver's minimum and default time-out to 24 hours or greater. For other diag-levels, smaller values can be used. As root edit /etc/system: set sbbc_mbox_default_timeout = 86700 set sbbc_mbox_min_timeout = 86700 Product Netra 1280 Server Sun Fire V1280 Server Internal Comments See BugID 4854333 sgfru, ioctl, 0xf, handle, 0xc1, failed:, Connection, timed, out Previously Published As 74637 Change History Date: 2004-03-17 User Name: 11511 Action: Approved Comment: Doc ok to publish.
