In this Document
Oracle Confidential (PARTNER). Do not distribute to customers
SymptomsIssue found with the process for pre-programmed RLM cards where the WWN seedwould generate the incorrect WWN seeds for the MPU2 card and tape drives. This is only seen when the customer has WWN zoning configured on their switch or Persistent binding set for the WWN of the library or drives. CauseThe RLC cards out of spares aren't completely being wiped clean so there is residual info on them so when a pre-programmed RLM is installed with a “blank” RLC card, you could end up with a dead library due to the WWN's and SILKs information not matching.SolutionRelief/WorkaroundEngineering is working to rectified. At this time, it is not recommended that the RLM and RLC cards be replaced at the same time. Contact Level 2 Tape Hardware Support for code fix in 1395 level of code. Resolution This problem is resolved in 1395 code: 1395 has a fix that is the “RevertToFactorySettings” command that will wipe the RLM card clean except for the passwords. This command can only be run with the OEM user and the Advsrv user. If a FE needs to use the command, they will have to activate the OEM user and then they reset OEM after the command is done so that a backdoor is available in the future should there be a need to recover passwords.
