Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version: Not ApplicableSun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version: Not Applicable and later [Release: N/A and later] Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsPolicy Routes Disabled after reboot of 2.8x SL3000 or 6.0x SL8500 Codes.Due to a boot time issue in 2.8x and 6.0x library microcodes, Policy Routes will be disabled after the boot. Possible lost communication or Dual TCP/IP functionality. Error 3028 stating "Failed modifying policy rules". Result code 3028 RC3028 CauseFirmware issue.SolutionAfter every reboot or power cycle of a library with these code levels, the Policy Routes must be re-enabled from the CLI. When attempting to enable the policy routes for either Ports 2A or 2B, you will receive an error #3028 stating "Failed modifying policy rules".In fact, the routes do enable even though the message states otherwise. You can also disable the routes first and then re-enable them and you should not receive the error messages when they are enabled. See the following commands and responses that are expected: SL8500> network ip policy enable dev 2B requestId requestId 1 Error Number 3028 Text Failed modifying policy rules Done Failure Count 1 Success Count 0 COMPLETED SL8500> network ip policy enable dev 2A requestId requestId 2 Error Number 3028 Text Failed modifying policy rules Done Failure Count 1 Success Count 0 SL8500> network ip policy status 2A: Policy Rule: ENABLED 2B: Policy Rule: ENABLED COMPLETED Attachments This solution has no attachment |
