Impact For Sun StorageTek 6140 and 6540 arrays with firmware 07.10.25.10, an expansion of a snapshot repository may freeze and result in write cache becoming disabled. As a consequence of this Bug, it may be necessary to wipe the array configuration and recreate it. 2. Contributing Factors This issue can occur on the following platforms:
# /opt/SUNWsesscs/cli/bin/sscs list array <array_name> 3. Symptoms When attempting to expand a snapshot volume, the expansion never completes and performance drops due to the cache becoming disabled. Note: A SupportData collection for the array must be obtained in order to confirm this issue. 4. Workaround To avoid this issue, do not expand a snapshot repository if the array has firmware 07.10.25.10. If a snapshot repository expansion is performed and this issue is encountered, it will be necessary to contact Sun Support Services for the proper recovery procedure. 5.
