PreviouslyPublishedAs 203110 Description Addresses within the reserved ip address range for the 3510 cannot be configured and furthermore will generate an error if one of these ip addresses is used. This is the reserved ip address range for the 3510 as provided by Dothill Steps to Follow The reserved IP address range list below-- if( (Desc & 0xff) == 0 || /* 0.0.0.0 */ (Desc & 0xff) == 0x7f || /* 127.x.x.x */ (Desc & 0xffff) == 0x80 || /* 128.x.x.x */ (Desc & 0xffff) == 0xffbf || /* 191.255.x.x */ (Desc & 0xffffff) == 0xc0 || /* 192.0.0.x */ (Desc & 0xffffff) == 0x200c0 || /* 192.0.2.x */ (Desc & 0xffffff) == 0xffffdf ) /* 223.255.255.x */ Reserved IP addresses are not documented in the firmware manual. See example of error message below when trying to use a reserved ip address. The sccli displays the following error: sccli> sccli> config network-interface lan0 ip-address 192.0.2.6 sccli: get/set: error: failed to set controller network interface sccli: could not set interface parameters When using a non-reserved ip address, the configuration change succeeds. sccli> config network-interface lan0 ip-address 10.1.13.89 sccli: changes will not take effect until controller is reset sccli> In telnet window the error: "IP address reserved." is displayed when trying to set the ip address to 192.0.2.6.
