DescriptionThis document helps you to configure the Dual-head Monitor in Red-Hat Linux Operating Environment for x86/x64 systems
particularly Sun Java[TM] Workstation W1100z and W2100z Using Nvidia dual-headed AGP card.
Note:- Technical Instruction: <Document: 1010769.1> helps you to do the same configuration but it is "spanning desktop"
type vision whereas this document will help to configure individual desktops dual-head vision scenario.
Steps to FollowDual-Head Monitor Configuration:
1. Load the latest driver for AGP video card from the Workstation Supplement CD.
a. Login in a terminal as root user, stop the X-server running by bring the system from init 5 to init 3 run level.
b .Insert the Workstation Supplement CD and mount the CDROM.
c. Run the install.sh script which will install the driver for your Nvidia APG card.

2. Take a copy of the current XF86config file before editing it.
# cp /etc/X11/XF86config /etc/X11/XF86config.orig
3.Edit the XF86config file.
Note:- Mere copy of the content below to this file will well work for Sun Java Workstations W1100z and W2100 but for other
X86/X64 systems, you need to find the AGP/video card PCI id from '/proc/pci' directory or use 'lspci' command and make
the appropriate changes in this Section "Device" of below file.

4.Save and quit the configuration file.
5.Start the X-server by bring the system back to init 5 run level.

You will find the GUI popping up in both monitors.
Note:- This base dual-head configuration "XF86config" file can be customized to your requirements and options.
