Description
This document details the following SP and onboard network interface card(NIC) LED status information, for both the Sun Fire[TM] V20z and V40z servers:

Network Interface Ports:
Network Activity
Gigabit indication
100Mb indication
Link Status indication

Service Processor Management Ports:
FDX/Collision
Link Speed



Steps to Follow
Refer to the "Sun Fire Quick Reference" label glued to the underside of the top
chassis cover, for more details:
  • The "Motherboard Indicators, Switches, and Jumpers" section: shows the
    approximate location of the LEDs.
  • The "Power Indicators" section: gives a short description of the LED status.

Traffic/Activity: On = traffic is occurring.
Gigabit indicator: On = Gigabit mode is active.
100Mbps indicator: On = 100 Megabit mode is active.
Link indicator: On = active link is established.

FDX/Collision Indicator LED:
On = Link operation in full-duplex mode
Blinking = Link operating in half-duplex mode with collisions detected
Off = Link inoperative or operating in half-duplex mode with no collisions dected

Link Speed Indicator LED:
On = Link operating at 100 Mbps
Off = Line inoperative or operating at 10 Mbps
