PreviouslyPublishedAs 217181
Applies to:Sun Fire T2000 ServerAll Platforms GoalThis document provides a list mandatory patches and /etc/system file settings, required to make the Sun Fire[TM] T2000 server functional.NOTE: The patch versions in the doc are at the time of writing the document and some of the patches may be obsoleted and no longer needed. The latest patches can be obtained from MOS. SolutionDescriptionThis is a listing of the mandatory patches and /etc/system file settings, required to make the Sun Fire[TM] T2000 server functional. Steps to Follow The following patch revisions or later, must be applied to Sun Fire T2000 server, running Solaris[TM] 10 Operating System(OS), HW2 build 05: Solaris[TM] 10 Operating System(OS), HW2 build 05 (03/05)
The following entries must be added to the /etc/system file for Solaris 10 OS, HW2 build 05: set segkmem_lpsize=0x400000 Hardware RAIDThe following patch revisions or later are required to implement hardware RAID on the server:
Note: These two patches are NOT included in Solaris 10 HW2 Note: See patch ID 122165-02 for instructions on how to confirm the currently installed FCode revision. The ALOM 'showhost' command cannot be used for the non-RoHS T2000 server, as it queries only the onboard LSI chip firmware (not the installed PCI-X controller). This, and more information appears in the Sun Fire T2000 Product Notes. Note: Solaris 10 HW2 build 05, is the minimum OS level supported on the non-RoHS T2000 server (pn 501-6843). See the T2000 Product Notes for details. Solaris 10 Update 1 (1/06)The following patches (or later) should be applied to Sun Fire T2000 systems running Solaris 10 Update 1 (1/06): Kernel patche IDs: 118822-30 and 118833-36 Solaris 10 Update 1 includes most of the mandatory patches, but NOT the FMA patch ID 119578-30, NOR the hardware RAID patches. Also, the following /etc/system entry is still needed for Solaris 10 U1 (1/06): The /etc/system entry 'segkmem_lpsize=0x400000' (for S10HW2) is not required, as the related bug 6274126 is already fixed in Solaris 10 Update 1 (1/06). Note: Solaris 10 Update 1 (1/06), is the minimum OS level supported on the RoHS T2000 server (pn 501-7501). See the T2000 Product Notes for details. Solaris 10 Update 2 (6/06)The following patches (or later) should be applied to Sun Fire T2000 systems running Solaris 10 Update 2 (6/06): Kernel patch ID: 118833-36 Note: The Sun Fire T2000 configurations are not shipped with S10U2, but the OS can be upgraded to S10U2. Solaris 10 Update 3 (11/06)The following patches (or later) should be applied to Sun Fire T2000 systems running Solaris 10 Update 3 (11/06): Kernel patch ID: 118833-36 Note: The Sun Fire T2000 configurations are not shipped yet with S10U3, but the OS can be upgraded. Solaris 10 08/07No additions are required when running Solaris 10 08/07 Product Sun Fire T2000 Server Internal Comments This patch list also appears in the Sun Fire T2000 product notes but it has been requested by engineering that it also be placed in Voyager. Reference the product notes and the TSC web page for the latest T2000 patch information: Note: The mandatory patch levels should be verified on the pre-installed image and every time when Solaris is reinstalled. Note: The system firmware listed in the main document body are minimum revisions recommended by PTS.
