PreviouslyPublishedAs 228788 Description Both Netra[TM] V240 and the Sun Fire[TM] V240 both use the same system board assembly. You must reconfigure the fan assembly's for the Netra version. This document will explain the differences. Steps to Follow Netra V240 requires different fan assembly's to provide cooling. This system has 2 fan assembly's, one for the front and rear of the unit. Due to this difference you must follow the caution shown below. Caution - The system board ships with CPU heat sinks containing fans. Before installing the replacement system board into the Netra 240 server chassis, you must first remove the fans from the CPU heat sink assemblies. 375-3120 Motherboard w/ 2 ? US IIIi 1.28GHz 375-3178 Motherboard w/ 1 ? US IIIi 1.28GHz The CPU heat sink fans must be removed to enable connection for the rear/front fan assembly. The rear fan assembly uses connectors P0F0 for the front fan, and P0F1 for the rear fan in this assembly. Also for the front fan assembly you use connectors F3 for the left hand fan and F2 for the right hand fan in this assembly. Note: If you fail to remove the heat-sink fans from the processors you will see sensor failures from the I2C buss. Always replace the heat sinks after removal of the fan's. Note: Be sure to re-attach fans to heat sinks of the system board being returned.
