Description
Ultra20 supports hardware RAID using an on-board NF2200 chip. Hardware RAID supports RAID0 and RAID1. On-board hardware RAID is currently only supported on Windows XP Professional (32bit/64-bit).

* Vancouver 3(vendor's code name) disk not supported
- Support operating systems:
    Windows XP Professional
Windows XP Professional 64-bit
* The driver of H/W RAID supports Windows Server 2003
but the Ultra20 does not support this operating system.
- Installation (for Windows)
1. Make RAID configuration at BIOS and RAID menu.
Please see the following document:
Docs name ; Sun Ultra 20 Workstation Getting Started Guide
Docs P/N ; 819-2148
Section ; Chapter 2, installing RAID drivers for Windows XP
Location ; http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/hardware/docs/Workstation_Products/Workstations/ultra_20/
   2. Operating system and drivers install. Please see the above document.
   3. Completed to install operating system and drivers, then hardware
RAID management tool installed using the Supplement CD.
- Bootup operating system
- Insert the Sun Ultra 20 Workstation Supplemental CD into the DVD drive
- Copy the zip file to c:\raid located in the following DVD directory:
64-bit ; drivers/windows/XP64/
32-bit ; drivers/windows/XP32/
- I.e. in the actual "Ultra 20 Workstation Supplemental CD" ver 1.4 they are:
32-bit ; drivers/windows/XP32/NFref_670_w2kxp.zip
64-bit ; drivers/windows/XP64/CK804_669_xp64.zip
- Unzip the copied zip file
- Double click 'setup.exe' file
 - Start RAID management tool(for Windows)
- Change the directory to IDE/WinXP/raidtool were you have extracted the previous .zip file.
- Run the RegRaid.Bat file in the "raidtool" folder to register the wizard service
- Double click 'NvRaidMan.exe' file.
- This tool allows you to rebuild, convert and manage your arrays.
 - Disk Drive synchronization with RAID1
Estimation of the re-sync time.
It is important to take the duration of the disk re-sync into
consideration when planning the time necessary to put servers
into production. The duration of the re-sync is dependent
on the volume size.
Example with two 250 GB disk drives(actual): 1hour 30 minutes.
