Description
How to patch Solaris[TM] 10 5/08 Operating System to run on Sun SPARC Enterprise(R) M3000 Server
Sun SPARC Enterprise M3000 Server requires Solaris 10 10/08 Operating System as described in the data sheet.
If that version cannot be used, it is possible to use Solaris 10 5/08 Operating System with a set of patches added.


Steps to Follow
Please download these patches (minimum patch revision are listed):
The important patch is Patch ID 137137-09, the others are prerequisites.

• Patch ID 113254-59 SunOS 5.10: Install and Patch Utilities Patch
• Patch ID 138866-01 SunOS 5.10: sharetab patch
• Patch ID 137137-09 SunOS 5.10: kernel patch
• Patch ID 138504-04 SunVTS 7.0 Patch Set 3 if you plan to use Sun VTS

Please install Solaris 10 5/08 Operating System from your favourite medium.

After that, the procedure is as follows:

1. install Patch ID 119254-59
2. reboot
3. install Patch ID 138866-01
4. reboot to single user mode
5. install Patch ID 137137-09
6. reboot
7. install Patch ID 138504-04 if you plan to use Sun VTS
