No specific skills required DELIVERY REQUIREMENT: Maintenance window may be required Estimate AP Duration = 0.2 hours FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : Caution – Removing the system battery will clear the CMOS and return the BIOS settings to their factory defaults. The BIOS will automatically notify you of this change the next time you boot the system. WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: Prepare the server for service. a. Power off the server and disconnect the power cord (s) from the power supply (s). b. Remove the server from the rack. c. Attach an antistatic wrist strap. d. Remove the top cover. To remove and install the system battery, a. Using your fingers, unlatch the battery from the socket by twisting the battery away from the socket spring. b. Lift the battery up and out of the socket, c. Locate the replacement system battery then insert the battery into the socket with the positive (+) side of the battery facing toward the spring. Install the cover on the server.
