Description
Troubleshooting SCSI Devices from the Operating System

Steps to Follow
Please validate that each troubleshooting step below is true for your environment. The steps will provide instructions or a link to a document, for validating the step and taking corrective action as necessary. The steps are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and identify the proper resolution. Please do not skip a step.

Step 1 - Identify which device path is not seen by looking at format or /var/adm/messages.This will be needed in step 2.

Example:

     /devices/pci@1f,4000/pci@5/scsi@4

Step 2 - Verify the HBA can be seen from the OS

Refer to < Document: 1005314.1 > Sun StorageTek 33x0 SCSI Array: How to verify SCSI HBA Connectivity

Step 3 - Sun Solaris only supports Veritas DMP for SCSI multipathing, please verify Multipathing is enabled correctly.

Refer to < Document: 1011302.1> "Verifying DMP Health" for VxDMP

Step 4 - Verify StorEdge array hardware and configuration is optimal.

Refer to < Document: 1005313.1 > Troubleshooting Sun StorEdge 33x0/351x Configuration

Step 5 - Verify lun setting within the sd.conf file.

Refer to Editing the sd.conf file , Appendix D2, in the Sun StorEdge 3000 Family Installation, Operation, and Service Manual available from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/documentation/index.html/

At this point, if you have validated that each troubleshooting step above is true for your environment, and the issue still exists,
further in-depth troubleshooting is required. Please provide supporting data and open a Service Request.
