Description
This document describes how to identify and resolve multiple drive failures within a single volume on the array.

In order to provide you the most accurate fix, please validate that each statement under the symptoms below is true for your environment.

These symptoms will hyperlink you into a relevant content that will 1) tell you how to validate the listed symptom and 2) how to fix the symptom if it is true for your environment. The listed symptoms are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and be certain about the related fix. Please do not skip a step.

Symptoms:

- 'fru stat' shows 2 or more disk failures

- Volume fails to recon after disk replacement

Environmental Considerations:

- Multiple disk failures are only for disks in the same volume.

1.  Set expectations.  At this point the possibility of data loss is high.  There is one possible procedure that can be used by Sun to save data. Contact Sun.

same volume for a T3 array.



1.  Set expectations. At this point the possibility
of data loss is high.  There is one possible procedure to save

restore from backup.


2.  Replace disks.


3.  Rebuild orginal volume.


4.  Restore data from backup.
