Description
Much of the data that is critical to troubleshooting is available through ALOM commands. The series of ALOM commands that collect this data are only run if the "Tx000" script is run with Sun[TM] Explorer.

Explorer version 5.5 and above runs the Tx000 module by default

Download latest explorer version from Technical Instruction <Document: 1002383.1> Sun[TM] Explorer Data Collector.

Steps to Follow
Explorer versions earlier than 5.2 are not supported on Tx000 (Sun Fire[TM] T1000/T2000) platforms. When running explorer 5.2 5.3 and 5.4, the script "Tx000" is not run by default, it must be specified if you want to collect the data from the ALOM commands.

Example of running just the Tx000 script:

  /opt/SUNWexplo/bin/explorer -w Tx000

Example of running the default scripts and Tx000

  /opt/SUNWexplo/bin/explorer -w default,Tx000

Note, that unlike the "alomextended" scripts used to collect ALOM data on other systems,a configured and operational "NET MGT" port is not required.

Explorer version 5.5 and above will create individual outputs for each ALOM command run in the /opt/SUNWexplo/output/<explorer_name>/Tx000 directory.

Explorer versions 5.2 and 5.3 will create in the /opt/SUNWexplo/output/<explorer_name>/Tx000 directory a file "snapshot.xml". This file contains a concatenation of all the ALOM commands run and their output.

Internal Comments
The output of the Tx000 ALOM showfru command is quite verbose and can be difficult to understand. A script has been developed to summarise the data found in the showfru output.

Commandline: /net/cores.uk/export/hotline/hotlocal/bin/showfru -T showfru or snapshot.xml

PTS Tools Page: http://panacea.uk.oracle.com/twiki/bin/view/Tools/ToolPageShowfru

The "snapshot.xml" file may or may not be read with a browser or xml parser. PTS has developed a simple script to break out the data into individual outputs for easy viewing. The script "Tx000extract" can be found on the PTS Platform Tools page:
