Tips
Disk Drive
  • Seagate Cheetah 7 FC-AL and SCSI disk drives with serial numbers below 60000 are experiencing a higher than expected failure rate due to a spindle motor issue (FCO A0239-1).
SE5210 LSI MegaRAID Board
  • If the SE5210 LSI MegaRaid board battery is fully discharged, in the event of a power outage any data in the cache will be lost (FCO A0257-1).
RAID Management
  • Improper usage of RAID Management tools such as Santricity (NRM) and CAM (Common Array Management) to administer the Sun StorEdge 5210/5310 and Sun StorageTek 5320/5220 can lead to unplanned outages including data corruption and data loss. (FAB 1000787.1).
